[edit] Left Guard

This should be your best pass blocking guard. This is going to be real close to your Right Guards build, with a few tweaks. Strength takes a little bigger role in that he will usually be up against the strong DT or NT. Again, this guy needs to be big, strong, and able to handle both the strong NT and also the speedy Defensive Ends.

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Blocking, Strength, and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can start to diversify based on the numbers above

[edit] Right Offensive Tackle

This should be your best run blocking tackle. He will tend to face the stronger, run stopping oriented, defensive end. He will occasionally get help from the TE, but many tight ends are pass oriented in this game so he needs to be able to handle the DE one on one.

Strength: 70
Speed: 40
Agility: 45

Stamina: 35
Vision: 40

[edit] Left Offensive Tackle

This should be your best pass blocking tackle. He will tend to face the faster, pass rush, defensive end. He will need more speed and agility then the right tackle due to him having to be a bit more mobile.

Agility: 45
Jumping: N/A
Stamina: 35
Vision: 40
Confidence: 25
Blocking: 70

[edit] Defensive Tackle – Run Stopper

This is the immovable object inside! These guys should be monsters, and you want them to dominate the front. If you have a couple of man/beast at these roles you will win a lot of games. Once the system adds the 3-4 defense the NT will even be more important, but for the time being it is pretty much the same thing. The NT will be facing more double teams, but the skills are essentially the same you just want to have your stronger DT at the NT position.

Strength: 70
Speed: 25
Agility: 45
Jumping: N/A
Stamina: 45
Vision: 30
Confidence: 25
Blocking: 20
Tackling: 35

Carrying: N/A
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Strength, Agility, and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can begin to add points based on percentage of the above chart.

[edit] Defensive End – Run Stopper

This should be your better run stopping DE. If the defense runs correctly the plays will be pushed to him so he needs to be big, strong, and able to wrap up the backs once they are funneled towards him.

Strength: 60
Speed: 45
Agility: 60
Jumping: 20
Stamina: 45
Vision: 35
Confidence: 20
Blocking: 20
Tackling: 50
Throwing: N/A
Catching: N/A
Carrying: N/A
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Tackling, Strength, Speed, and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can begin to add points based on percentage of the above chart.

[edit] Defensive End – Pass Rusher (Generally your RIGHT End)

This should be your better pass rushing DE. He generally is one on one, and does not have to play the run as much as the left DE.

Strength: 50
Speed: 70
Agility: 50
Jumping: 20
Stamina: 45
Vision: 25
Confidence: 20
Blocking: 20
Tackling: 30
Throwing: N/A
Catching: N/A
Carrying: N/A
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Tackling, Strength, Speed, and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can begin to add points based on percentage of the above chart.

[edit] Linebacker – Pass Rushing Outside Linebacker

Think of this guy as a stand up rushing Defensive End. The skills are very much alike, and he will encounter much of the same resistance. While he still needs to take on Linebacker characteristics he needs to be able to run like a Corner Back. Speed, Agility, and Vision are all important as far as getting to the QB and Strength is important for what he may encounter getting their (O-Lineman, Fullbacks, etc.). I would suggest running Speed out in front of some of the other areas, and then slowly catching them up. Set your Tackling to Wrap Up and make Tackling one of the last skills you develop. Remember that this guy will stay on the field on passing downs so he needs a bit more Stamina then the MLB.

Strength: 35
Speed: 75
Agility: 40
Jumping: 25
Stamina: 40
Vision: 35
Confidence: 25
Blocking: N/A
Tackling: 40
Throwing: N/A
Catching: N/A
Carrying: N/A
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting the majority of your points towards Speed and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can begin to add points to Agility and Vision and then begin to balance him out.

[edit] Linebacker – Run Stopping Outside Linebacker

This guy needs to be fast to keep up with the elusive backs when they bounce it outside, but also needs to have a good amount of strength to take on blockers coming at him.

Strength: 40
Speed: 75
Agility: 40
Jumping: 20
Stamina: 40
Vision: 35
Confidence: 25
Blocking: N/A
Tackling: 35
Throwing: N/A
Catching: N/A
Carrying: N/A
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Tackling, Strength, Speed, and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can begin to add points based on percentage of the above chart.

[edit] Linebacker – Middle Linebacker

Think of this guy as the monster in the middle. Mike Singletary, Ray Lewis, Dick Butkus, etc. This guy has to be willing to stand in front of truck, and have the skills to survive. He will be your main run stuffer once the opposing team clears the line. Tackling, Strength, and Vision are his most important areas while he also needs some Agility and Speed. Set his Tackling to Wrap Up at the beginning, and it will allow you to develop the other areas first and then bring Tackling around.

Strength: 45
Speed: 60
Agility: 45
Jumping: 25
Stamina: 40
Vision: 50
Confidence: 30
Blocking: N/A
Tackling: 50
Throwing: N/A
Catching: N/A
Carrying: N/A
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting the majority of your points towards Strength, Vision, Speed and Stamina. Your tackling can come once you have these at a decent level. You can also back down off Speed, after you get it to 20 or so awhile, and bring the other areas up to par.

[edit] Cornerback – Balanced Build

One of the tougher players to build in all of the game is the Cornerback. Everyone has a different idea of what is important, or what is more important. First, and foremost, this guy has to be able to cover. Stopping the run should always be secondary to his pass coverage skills. You will end up with skill points in many different categories. Every team should have, at a bare minimum, three very good corners.

Strength: 20
Speed: 70
Agility: 50
Jumping: 30
Stamina: 40
Vision: 40
Confidence: 30
Blocking: N/A
Tackling: 20
Throwing: N/A
Catching: 30
Carrying: 20
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Speed, Agility, Vision and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can begin to add points based on percentage of the above chart.

[edit] Free Safety – Coverage Build

Again this position takes time to build a solid player, because he needs skills in so many different areas. As with the Strong Safeties one way to help get him up to speed is to set his tackling to wrap up for the first 6 levels or so, and don’t put a lot of attention towards tackling as that should take care of that. Over time you can start to add to tackling, and the SA Tree, and then you can use his tackling style in other ways. In the beginning it is more important to work on the coverage based skills, but remember he has to be fast enough in coverage yet strong enough to bring down runners.

Strength: 25
Speed: 70
Agility: 30
Jumping: 20
Stamina: 45
Vision: 40
Confidence: 25
Blocking: N/A
Tackling: 35
Throwing: N/A
Catching: 25
Carrying: 15
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Speed, Agility, Vision and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can begin to add points based on percentage of the above chart.

[edit] Strong Safety – Balanced Build

This position takes time to build a solid player, because he needs skills in so many different areas. One way to help get him up to speed is to set his tackling to wrap up for the first 6 levels or so, and don’t put a lot of attention towards tackling as that should take care of that. Over time you can start to add to tackling, and the SA Tree, and then you can use his tackling style in other ways. In the beginning it is more important to work on the run based skills, as at the lower levels it is much harder to pass for the opposing teams.

Strength: 35
Speed: 70
Agility: 40
Jumping: 25
Stamina: 45
Vision: 45
Confidence: 25
Blocking: N/A
Tackling: 35
Throwing: N/A
Catching: 25
Carrying: 20
Kicking: N/A
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Speed, Agility, Vision and Stamina. Once you have those in the 20+ area you can begin to add points based on percentage of the above chart.

[edit] Punter

The most non-glamorous role in the game, but if your team does not have a good one then your opponent will always be playing on a short field. Since the punter is rarely on the field Stamina is not nearly important on this position. Punting is obviously the most important, but other skills help as well with distance, accuracy, etc.

Strength: 70
Speed: 25
Agility: 35
Jumping: 25
Stamina: 12
Vision: 60
Confidence: 60
Blocking: N/A
Tackling: 15-20
Throwing: N/A
Catching: N/A
Carrying: N/A
Kicking: N/A
Punting: 100

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Punting, and train on Strength. You can always add a point every now and then to Stamina, but you don’t need to work up your Stamina quick like most roles. Once you have your punting in the 40-50 range then you can start to balance out the other skills accordingly.

[edit] Kicker

I think this position will become more and more important the higher level leagues you end up playing in due to the teams being so close that a good kicker might determine who wins the games. One of the few positions that does not really need much Stamina, but you could replace Stamina for Confidence as he has to have a lot of it. Kicking is the main focus, but the other skills have a lot to do with his accuracy as well.

Strength: 60
Speed: 30
Agility: 30
Jumping: 25
Stamina: 12
Vision: 60
Confidence: 60
Blocking: N/A
Tackling: 15-20
Throwing: N/A
Catching: N/A
Carrying: N/A
Kicking: 80
Punting: N/A

To begin with you should be putting all your points towards Kicking, Strength, Vision, and Confidence. You can always add a point every now and then to Stamina, but you don’t need to work up your Stamina quick like most roles.
